Date/Time: Thu, September 7, 2017 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM EDT
Location: N/A – This is a webinar. You will be sent a log in link and instructions the night before the event.
Topic: Introduction to Process Capability – Are you part of a manufacturing supply chain where your downstream customers require you to quantify on an ongoing basis the ability of your manufactured part to meet their specifications? Or, perhaps, you work at a hospital that has an upper limit on the acceptable turn-around time for processing lab samples and the hospital administrators want to know how well the hospital is doing at meeting that limit? These are examples of a need to assess Process Capability, which is the subject of Indy ASQ’s next webinar. Process Capability is a broad topic, but we will focus on the basics: the concept, its importance, common capability ratios (Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk) and their interpretation, plus a couple of examples.
Speaker: The instructor will be Jim Grimes, who is a recently retired statistician from the pharmaceutical industry, where he spent many years providing statistical support to both drug product and delivery device manufacturing, as well as being a Six Sigma Master Black Belt. He previously was an ASQ certified quality engineer, a past chair of the Indianapolis Section of ASQ, and is currently a senior advisor for the executive board of the Indianapolis Section of ASQ. Jim has a master’s degree in Applied Statistics from Louisiana State University
